A kick-off meeting of the YoungNMC network of The Netherlands Metabolomics Center (NMC) was held online on March 18th, 2019.
Attendees from all three Benelux countries, willing to become members of its first organizing committee, consisted of early-career scientists with diverse academic backgrounds and research focuses brought together by Dr. Michel van Weeghel, Dr. Karlien Coene, and Dr. Justin van der Hooft. After expressing their expectations from the network, attendees agreed on the primary goal of YoungNMC, which is to actively promoting the transfer of knowledge, technology, and training in the field of metabolomics through a network of committed early career researchers in Benelux countries. They also agree that the upcoming Metabolomics2019 conference in The Hague, the Netherlands, will be a great opportunity to hold its first set of events and to introduce the network to the metabolomics community.
Dr. Michel van Weeghel and his colleagues in Amsterdam are enthusiastic about organizing the first YoungNMC symposium day in the course of this year. We are pleased to invite all attendees of Metabolomics 2019 to meet us in the symposium. Stay tuned for more to come from the YoungNMC network!
